My name is Izzy, and I'm obsessed with preserving the culture of drinks!
I have a degree in language and culture (mostly about Japan), and along the way, I learned that alcohol is a gateway to understanding cultures. In many cultures, alcohol is not just a drink, it’s a ritual, tradition or a story.
Working in 5-star hospitality, I’ve been given an opportunity to drink many of these stories from every corner of the world. From sake to Châteauneuf-du-Pape to Lambanog, these traditions deserve to be shared and preserved, which is why I created Global Decanter.
Using my WSET Level 3 in wine (Finally) and experience in hospitality, I aim to learn as much about alcohol and culture from around the world. Global Decanter is where I come to share. Because it's not just about the taste, it's about the story!
